The Market Inn has been a landmark in South West Washington since 1959, with the same Family ownership. We strive to serve Seafood at its best, and have over 85 seafood & Beef entrees on our menu.
Sometimes known as "The Lobster House of Washington", (pick your own live from the tank), we also serve Prime Rib, Spare Ribs, Chicken, many fresh Fish and Shellfish selections. We buy only the Largest Fresh Sea Scallops, the Largest available Soft Shell Crabs, usually designated as "Whales", and Pride ourselves in the use of true "Jumbo Shrimp" in most shrimp dishes. Our soup are all made "In House", with the most famous being "She Crab". Order a soup sampler and try our "Real" Snapper turtle Soup, & our popular Lobster Bisque or maybe a spicy Crab Gumbo. We make your meal from "Scratch"... cut, peel, de-vein, & butterfly shrimp, make our own sauces, and do our own breading (always lightly).
Located in the heart of South West Washington's' new "Independence Square", and just off Capitol Hill, the Market inn, is a fun place to dine. We are also convenient for the tourist visiting the nearby Air & Space Museum, or the new American Indian Museum. Market Inn is a must for Theater goers, nearby, and open before & after most performances. We are open weekdays for Lunch, Sundays for our "New Orleans Jazz Brunch", and every evening for Dinner.
Dine in any of the Market Inn's four dining areas, each with its own personality. We seat over 300 guests in 4 different dining areas. You'll enjoy dining in an atmosphere that is warm and friendly. Live Entertainment prevails every day. we offer free valet parking (lot right beside us), and we are also convenient to the Blue & Orange line metro stop, Federal Center S.W., (less than two blocks). We are even within walking distance of several S.W. Hotels. We accept all major credit cards, and "Most", a regional ATM card.
